When Evy Davison, his wife of 66 years, passed away due to cancer in April 2016, Keith Davison felt incredibly lonely at home. The silence was overwhelming, and he cried often because she wasn’t there. To combat this loneliness, the 94-year-old retired Morris, Minnesota judge decided to do something remarkable: build a swimming pool in his backyard. Now, his home is always bustling with visitors, especially neighborhood kids!
The pool, which is 16ft by 32ft in size, was installed in 2017 year. Davison officially opened it to the neighborhood kids in July. Even though he doesn’t have his grandchildren, one neighbor mentioned that Davison had practically adopted the entire neighborhood’s kids as his own. This gesture has brought Davison immense joy and companionship. Although he cherishes moments of quiet relaxation in the pool, they are rare because they are always filled with laughter and happiness from the children.
