Swans are not extremely friendly or accessible creatures due to their aloof nature. They are fiercely protective of their territory and may be highly threatening. Because of this, the scene in which an injured swan embraced Richard Wiese, the host of the television show “Born to Explore,” is particularly heartwarming.
Several years ago, while Wiese was touring the Abbotsbury Swannery in the United Kingdom, he came upon a swan who had sustained injuries from colliding with a chain-link fence. By holding the Swan, Wiese could assist in the examination process.
According to Wiese’s interview with ABC News, “When I put it next to me, I could feel its heart pumping, and it just relaxed its neck and wrapped it around mine.” When an animal places their complete confidence in you, it’s a fantastic feeling.
