Over 2.5 million acres of Indonesian rainforest disappear annually due to deforestation, which leaves numerous wild animals homeless. Among the animals affected, orangutans are the most severely impacted by logging. Their population has decreased by more than 50% in the last 16 years. The non-profit organization, International Animal Rescue, is making tremendous efforts to rescue the declining community of orangutans and safeguard the habitats of other animals.

This non-profit organization released a video on World Environment Day that showed an orangutan trying to fight a powerful digger that had destroyed its home. The video was recorded in 2013 but is now being shared to raise awareness about the dangers of deforestation to orangutan habitats. Deforestation also contributes to climate change and is a significant cause of global warming, affecting animals and humans.
